Three central banks on 24 September: Norges Bank, the Riksbank and the SNB
Three European central banks outside the euro area announce policy decisions on Thursday 24 September 2026, making it a busy day for the Norwegian krone, the Swedish krona and the Swiss franc.
Where each bank stands
- Norges Bank kept its policy rate at 4.25% on 12 August and said it may still become necessary to raise it. New forecasts come with the September decision.
- Sveriges Riksbank left its policy rate at 1.75% in August.
- Swiss National Bank has its policy rate at 0%. Swiss consumer prices were 0.8% higher in August than a year earlier.
What to discuss
- Are you trading NOK, SEK or CHF around the decisions, or waiting until afterwards?
- How much do oil prices matter for the krone at the moment?
- Which pairs are you watching: EUR/NOK, EUR/SEK, EUR/CHF or USD/CHF?
Post your reasoning before the announcements, and keep it to your own view rather than calls for others to follow. Background: our Norges Bank and Riksbank preview and SNB preview.
