How a news story is written
Each news story reports a release or decision from the body that published it: a central bank, a statistics office, a regulator or a company's own filing. Every story lists its sources, and the time it was published is shown in UTC.
Stories are written from the source itself, not copied or rewritten from another news site. Where a figure is calculated from published data, the story says so. The editorial policy explains the full process.
Guides and explainers
Guides explain how something works: a term, a data release, a market habit or a risk. They carry the same sourcing rules as news, and they don't tell you what to trade.
Following the news
The news page lists stories with filters for currency and type. The RSS feed at /news/rss.xml and the news sitemap give other tools the same list. Sign in and choose currencies on your watchlist page to receive an inbox alert when a new story mentions them. Stories are never emailed.
Corrections
When a published figure or statement is wrong, FTC corrects the story and records the change on the corrections page, with the date.
