Partner or sponsor?
A partner is an account FTC has verified. The verified badge confirms that we checked the brand, the regulation, the legal entity and the support details. It doesn't confirm that a product makes money or that a service performs.
A sponsor pays for a placement. Sponsored places are always labelled Sponsored. A sponsor doesn't change a broker's place in the broker list, which is ordered by the number of tier-1 regulators and never by commission, or any review, article, score or discussion.
To talk about a sponsored placement, contact the team with the subject “Sponsorship”. Terms are agreed in writing before anything goes live.
How verification works
- Open your account under your brand name. The username has to match the brand, and the login email must be on your company domain. Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, iCloud and other free or disposable addresses aren't accepted.
- Send the application. Give the business type, the regulator and licence where you have one, the legal company name, the support contact details, and background on the business with the research and links behind it.
- FTC checks it. We compare the regulator register and the company record with what you wrote, and check that the website, the login email and the support email match. Applications are reviewed in order.
- Post as a verified partner. After approval you get the partner badge, your own partner news, and a listing in the partner directory. Your replies in discussions carry the badge.
- Changes go back to review. A new brand, website, regulator, licence, legal entity, register link or support email sends your account back for review, and the badge stays off until we approve it again.
The rules partners agree to
- Every post, reply and news item shows that it comes from you as a partner. Don't post as a member or as FTC.
- No promises of profit, guaranteed returns or claims of verified results, anywhere on FTC.
- No selling, payment requests or account management in discussions. Put product links in your partner news and on your profile.
- Keep your details current. A change to your brand, regulation, legal entity, website or support email sends your account back for review.
- FTC can remove any content, hide the partner badge or block the account. If it does, all of your posts and news are removed.
- You are responsible for the licences and claims you publish and for following the rules where you operate.
If a partner breaks these rules, or their content is reported and found to break them, FTC can remove all of the content from that account and block the account. The reason is recorded and the account can appeal from its moderation notices.

Apply for a verified account
Read the risk warning and the community guidelines before you apply. A partner badge means the account was verified, not that its products are recommended.
