Who we are

What we collect

• Account data: your username, email address, and the name and profile picture your sign-in provider shares (Google, Facebook, X, Discord, Apple or Microsoft).
• Profile details you choose to add: a profile picture (stored by FTC), bio, location, trading details, links, trading account details and the closed trades you import. An imported statement is read on your device; its account number and name aren't sent to FTC.
• What you post: comments, chat messages, signals, wall posts and the moderation history attached to them.
• Links to images and videos you embed in wall posts. The files stay with the service that hosts them, which receives a visitor's IP address when the image or video loads.
• Connections and private messages: who you're connected with, connection requests, and the text of private messages you send and receive, with when they were sent and read. Messages are checked automatically for abuse, links and scam wording before they're delivered, and a moderator reads a message only if its recipient reports it. Messages are kept until either member deletes their account.
• Security data: IP address, device and browser details, used to protect accounts and stop suspended users from returning under new accounts.
• Usage data: pages visited and features used, measured with Google Analytics, and how pages are used (clicks, scrolling and mouse movement) recorded with Microsoft Clarity, which masks what you type into forms. In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland this only happens if you accept analytics cookies.

What we don't do

We never receive the password for your social account, and we don't sell personal data.

Why we use it

• To run your account and the community (contract).
• To keep the platform safe and prevent abuse (legitimate interests and legal obligations).
• To measure and improve the site (consent where the law requires it, otherwise legitimate interests).

Cookies

FTC's own server counts page views per day by page, referring website, country and type of device, without cookies or anything that identifies a visitor. Essential cookies keep you signed in and remember your theme. Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity set cookies to measure how the site is used. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are asked first, and analytics cookies stay off unless they accept. FTC also shows advertising served by Google AdSense, which can set its own cookies to choose and measure ads; see Google's own policy for what it collects. The live market widgets come from TradingView, which sets its own cookies. Visitors in the same three areas choose whether to load them before they appear, and the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page asks again. You can change your analytics choice at any time with that link.

How long we keep data

Account data is kept while your account is open. Moderation records (decisions, reports, appeals and the log of deleted accounts) are kept for 2 years so repeat abuse can be handled and appeals decided; a suspension or restriction that is still in force stays on record until it ends. Security data, meaning the IP address and device details saved with each sign-in, is deleted within a day after the sign-in session ends: when you log out, or 30 days after you last used FTC on that device. Records used to limit repeated requests, which can include an IP address or email address, are deleted after 2 days.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask to access, correct, delete or export your data, and object to or restrict some processing. Email mail@forextradingcommunity.com. You can also complain to your data protection authority.
