Economic calendar feedback: times, filters and what's missing

The economic calendar lists upcoming releases with their expected impact. We'd like to know how you use it and where it falls short.

Particularly useful feedback:

  • Do times display correctly in your time zone?
  • Which filters do you use, and which are missing?
  • Would you use alerts before high-impact events, and how far in advance?
  • Are there countries or indicators you'd like covered that you can't find?

Background: How to read an economic calendar: actual, forecast, previous and impact

The economic calendar tells you when markets are likely to move. Here is what each column means and how traders use it to plan the week.

What does forecast mean on an economic calendar?

The median expectation of economists surveyed before the release. Markets usually price in the forecast, so prices react to the gap between the actual figure and the forecast.

What is a high-impact event?

A release that has historically caused large price moves, such as central bank decisions, CPI inflation and the US jobs report. Spreads often widen around them.

A few tips while we collect feedback, then the questions we'd most like answered.

Tips: the calendar shows times in your device's time zone, so check your device clock if times look wrong. The market sessions tab shows which trading centres are open at the same time, which helps judge how liquid the market will be when a release lands.

    Most useful feedback right now:

    1. Are any events missing for the currencies you trade?
    2. Would you use an impact filter, a currency filter, or both?
    3. For alerts before high-impact releases, how much notice would you want: 15 minutes, an hour, or the evening before?

If something displays incorrectly, please include your device, browser and time zone. For readers new to calendars, how to read an economic calendar explains the actual, forecast and previous columns.
