December central bank calendar: what is on your list?

The Federal Reserve's next meeting is on 8–9 December 2026, and the calendar marks it as the one with new economic projections (FOMC calendar). The Bank of Canada's last decision was on 28 October, when it raised its target to 2.50% (the decision). December is the next point at which the Fed publishes projections, which makes it a natural month to compare the two banks' stances.

A calendar is a list of dates, and its value comes from deciding in advance which release would change your view. For December, members usually list the Fed decision and projections, the Bank of Canada date, and the US and Canadian data that come before each one. How to use an economic calendar explains how to read the calendar before you build that list, and the Fed hold gives the context for the Fed's current position.

  • Do you list the data that come before a decision, or only the decision itself?
  • How far ahead do you plan a trade around a central bank meeting?
  • What would make you remove an event from your list?

Please share your own approach and reasoning, not calls for others to copy. Posts that promise a direction or sell signals will be removed.
