About IC Markets

IC Markets was founded in Sydney in 2007 and built its name on raw-spread pricing for active traders. The brand now runs through several companies: International Capital Markets Pty Ltd holds an Australian Financial Services Licence, IC Markets (EU) Ltd is licensed in Cyprus for European clients, and Raw Trading Ltd, which trades as IC Markets Global and IC, is licensed by the Seychelles Financial Services Authority and serves most other countries.

On its global site the broker offers MetaTrader 4 and 5, cTrader and TradingView, with Raw Spread, Standard and swap-free accounts. The same site advertises deposit bonuses. Rules in the EU, the UK and Australia don't allow bonuses for retail CFD clients, which shows how much lighter the regime is for clients of the Seychelles company than for those of the Australian or Cypriot ones.

Strengths

  • Separate companies licensed by ASIC in Australia and CySEC in Cyprus
  • Choice of MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5, cTrader and TradingView
  • Raw-spread accounts designed for high-volume trading

Worth checking

  • Clients outside Australia and the EU are generally served by the Seychelles-licensed company
  • The global site advertises deposit bonuses, a sign of lighter offshore rules
  • The global site says it doesn't serve residents of the US, Canada or New Zealand
