## The shekel around the vote

The Bank of Israel's representative exchange rate was 3.078 shekels per dollar on 26 October, the day before the election, and 3.128 on 28 October; no rate was published for 27 October. It was 3.167 on 5 November. A higher number means a weaker shekel ([Bank of Israel, representative rates](https://www.boi.org.il/en/economic-roles/financial-markets/exchange-rates/)). The rates show the moves; they don't say what caused them.
