Dates and times below come from each institution's own calendar; where a time wasn't published, only the date is given. ## Monday 19 October: Canada's CPI Statistics Canada publishes September's consumer price index. August showed inflation at 3.0%, or 2.4% excluding gasoline ([report](/news/canada-cpi-august-2026/)). The Bank of Canada decides on 28 October. August's rate was 3.1%, with fuel the main driver ([report](/news/uk-inflation-august-2026-3-1-percent/)) The Bank of England holds Bank Rate at 3.75% after its 6–3 vote on 17 September ([report](/news/bank-of-england-holds-3-75-percent-september-2026/)), and its next decision is on 5 November. ## Friday 23 October: flash PMIs, Japan's CPI and Canadian retail sales S&P Global's release calendar lists the flash PMIs as follows (times in UTC, with the local time in brackets): - **Australia**: 22:00 on 22 October (09:00 AEDT) - **Japan**: 00:30 (09:30 JST) - **France**: 07:15 (09:15 CEST) - **Germany**: 07:30 (09:30 CEST) - **Eurozone**: 08:00 (10:00 CEST) - **United Kingdom**: 08:30 (09:30 BST) - **United States**: 13:45 (09:45 EDT) In September the US composite hit a five-year high of 58.4, the eurozone's rose to 53.1 and the UK's slowed to 51.7 ([report](/news/flash-pmi-september-2026-us-eurozone-uk/)). On the same day: - **Japan's national CPI for September**, after Tokyo's core rate jumped to 2.7% ([report](/news/tokyo-cpi-september-2026-core-2-7-percent/)).
