The week of 12 October is built around US inflation, with consumer prices on Wednesday and producer prices and retail sales on Thursday. Dates and times below come from each institution's own calendar; where a time wasn't published, only the date is given.

## Monday 12 October: holidays and the IMF meetings

The Tokyo stock market is closed for Sports Day, though derivatives holiday trading is open. It is also a public holiday in Canada (Thanksgiving) and a US federal holiday (Columbus Day), which usually means a quiet Monday for US Treasuries. The IMF and World Bank Annual Meetings run from 12 to 18 October in Bangkok, where finance ministers and central bank governors speak throughout the week. ## Tuesday 13 October: RBA minutes

The Reserve Bank of Australia publishes the minutes of its September meeting at 11:30 am AEDT. The Board raised the cash rate to 4.60% on 29 September ([report](/news/rba-raises-cash-rate-4-60-percent-september-2026/)).

## Wednesday 14 October: US CPI and the Beige Book

## Thursday 15 October: retail sales, PPI, UK GDP and Australian jobs

- **UK monthly GDP for August** at 7:00 a.m. UK time

- **US retail sales and producer prices for September**, both at 8:30 a.m. Eastern Time. Producer prices were 5.4% higher than a year earlier in August ([report](/news/us-producer-prices-august-2026/))

## Friday 16 October: final euro area inflation

Eurostat publishes the full September inflation data, which can revise the flash estimate of 3.8% ([report](/news/euro-area-inflation-september-2026-flash-estimate/)).
